Internship

Delphine Legacy Media internship program is under the umbrella of AAMBC Inc. and is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the areas of public relations, branding, social media, content creation, digital marketing and hybrid publishing.

Internships are available each semester for all of our departments—PR, digital and publishing. The internship is unpaid, but students are able to obtain college credit. Work hours are flexible to accommodate school schedules, and typically interns are in the office at least three days per week.

Social Media Manager

Location: Virtual/Remote
Type: Internship
Hours: 15 hrs./week

  • Work with management team to create and implement social media marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Build and execute social media strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
  • Write, develop, and strategize online content production and scheduling
  • Create and implement social media marketing plans on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for company brands and clients.
  • Monitor analytics with management team to identify viable ideas that will promote and grow the company and its clients
  • Create and post engaging blog and social media contents
  • Assist in the overall distribution of press releases and media alerts for the company and its clients
  • Assist with event planning and preparation also providing support to management team at live and virtual events
  • Create social media graphics/post
  • Have a background in one or more of the following fields: Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Social Media Management, Journalism, Digital Media, Writing, Business, or Marketing (Preferred, not required,)
  • Experience in other Adobe Creative Suite and movie editing platforms is beneficial to the role (Preferred, not required)
  • Expect to apply your talents to the following areas, graphic design, page, layouts, branding, 2D print media, digital/social media, advertisements, copy editing, writing, and creative marketing solutions.
  • Experience in creative writing, social media marketing, digital marketing, publishing, media relations or related experience
  • Have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Be able to work in a team setting
  • Pay great attention to detail and utilize analytical & critical thinking skills
  • Be able to work independently, juggling multiple projects while prioritizing and completing them by their deadlines.
  • Be receptive to critique and edit request on creative work
  • Can commit to work at least 15 hours a week
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Have the equipment, tools, and software needed for role
  • Must attend all scheduled staff meetings and training (100% virtual)

Publicity Manager

AAMBC Inc. is one of the largest network organization for black literary creatives and producers of the largest and only entertainment award show, AAMBC Awards, celebrating African Americans in literary arts, publishing, and film. In addition to being a literary organization, AAMBC Inc. is also the parent company of Delphine Legacy Media, a boutique brand and talent management agency, and Delphine Publications, an independent book publishing company.

We are looking for a creative and enterprising Project Manager to join our team who is highly –motivated and extremely well organized. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the brand and cross-functional projects and timelines for the company and clients including digital marketing, public relations, event management, and media projects from initiation through final delivery. The Project Manager will be part of both the brand team and research and development team.  You will be working closely and communicate with internal and external clients and vendors.

  • Managing projects and events tasks including connecting with vendors, ensuring deadlines are met and fielding project request.
  • Research vendors and gather quotes
  • Ensure necessary creative is designed, edited, and completed on time
  • Keep team members and management updated on project status and task
  • Assist with creative efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts, and design presentation strategies
  • Create and manage workflows for brand management and digital marketing teams

Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Publicity Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive public image.

  • Pitch stories to the media
  • Organizing press conferences
  • Inform public of upcoming events or literature
  • Set up interviews for CEO of organization
  • Handle crisis and emergency communication
  • Have a background in one or more of the following fields: Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Social Media Management, Journalism, Digital Media, Writing, Business, Marketing, or Project Management (Preferred, not required,)
  • Have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience in an operations manager/director position
  • Have strong leadership characteristics, able to direct audience and inspire them
  • Have admirable judgment and creative problem solving skills
  • Have great communications skills
  • Be able to work in a team setting
  • Pay great attention to detail and utilize analytical & critical thinking skills

Digital Social Media Marketing

Everyday we work with bestselling authors, major publishers, national media, bloggers and influencers in lifestyle, travel, fashion, beauty, arts, culture and entertainment. We’re focused on sparking conversations about books and authors in fun, fresh ways: merging traditional book publicity with the rapidly evolving, new, and vast ways to promote online and through social media.

We are always looking for social media and digital marketing interns to help create dynamic digital campaigns including custom photography, Facebook advertising, social media strategy, newsletter creation and more.

Social/Digital marketing is a large part of our company and you will gain hands-on experience with social media, branding, content, planning and executing. We are particularly interested in anyone with a love for social media, great photography skills and style are a plus! Must be a seasoned multi-tasker and media maven. Our focus is female-driven campaigns, and our brand is fun and fearless.
